Nach dem Kauf von Blackwell durch Wiley vor genau einem Jahr steht nun die Vereinigung der beiden Onlinesysteme an. Wiley-Blackwell schreibt uns gestern dazu:
As a first step in the process we will be moving all Blackwell content onto Wiley InterScience. As of July 1, 2008, all Blackwell journal content and all Wiley online content will be hosted on Wiley InterScience. We will transfer all Blackwell journal access rights to enable continuous access to licensed content for all customers on Wiley InterScience. The combined service will accommodate both the existing Wiley and Blackwell licensing models. Blackwell Synergy will cease to be available as of July 1, 2008. Existing Synergy URLs and links will redirect to the content on Wiley InterScience. The initial integration of Blackwell content into Wiley InterScience will enable users to search across 5,000 online books and 2 million journal articles in over 1,400 journals on a single site.
Ein „next-generation online service“, der das Beste aus Synergy und Wiley verbindet, soll 2009 lanciert werden. Dazu werden bereits jetzt intensive Kundenanalysen durchgeführt.
