Summary zu UpToDate’s „Uncertainity of Pricing“

Linda Spadaccini, Library Director Health Center Library Waterbury, Conneticut, hat in medlib-l ein Summary zu Ihrer Frage bzgl. UpToDate gepostet:

Generally most people like the resource. The major concern is the outrageous pricing. There does not appear to be a reason for the price given from year to year. There is an inability to budget for the increase as it can vary from nothing to up to 100% from the previous year. The second major issue for libraries is the divided license of in house and remote with the tremendous pricing for the remote being way beyond most libraries even being able to consider it in any shape or form. This causes huge problems for the libraries … A fifth issue mentioned was that many librarian’s felt that the business plan for UpToDate was to eliminate libraries from buying the product so that each individual physician would buy it (pricing the libraries out).
