Mit ResearcherID zieht Thomson Reuters jetzt nach – Scopus hatte ja schon seit einiger Zeit den Author Identifier im Angebot. Im Gegensatz zu Scopus jedoch kann man in WOS nicht nach der ResearcherID suchen. Dumm, dumm! Gerade das wäre doch ein echter Benefit. Allerdings kann man im Gegensatz zu Scopus (wo man den Support anmailen muss, um die Fehler in den automatisch zugeordneten zig Identitäten korrigieren zu lassen) wenigstens seine „Identität“ durch Anfügen von Artikeln quasi selber „rein“ halten.
When you register, you are assigned a unique ID number that expressly associates you with your published works, regardless of any possible nomenclature variations or institutional affiliation changes. Unique identifiers allow everyone who accesses ResearcherID to easily find a specific author’s work, avoiding the common problem of author misidentification.
