The authors of Caution required when relying on a colleague’s advice; a comparison between professional advice and evidence from the literature. BMC Health Serv Res. 2005; 5: 59. carried out the study to find out if there was a difference between expert-based practice and evidence-based practice. They interviewed 14 occupational therapists to find out how they answered their clinical questions. The results showed that 53% of the information gathered from their colleagues was not in line with current research, and therefore, the authors recommended that the occupational therapists should ask for the evidence when gathering responses from their colleagues.
